With the emergence of the Wuhan novel coronavirus, many people are thinking about hygiene measures to stay healthy.

In the event that cases of coronavirus start to appear in your community, or if you are travelling to an infected area, there are some things you can do to reduce your risk of becoming infected. For anyone infected, preventing the spread of the virus to other people is important.

Advice on what you can do to protect yourself against infection, and how to make sure you do not spread infection to others, is available from the International Scientific Forum on Home Hygiene (IFH).

For healthcare providers, Public Health England has provided guidance on cleaning patient rooms with regard to the Wuhan novel coronavirus.
