UKCPI to support annual industry conference in Prague

The UK Cleaning Products Industry Association (UKCPI) is pleased to be a supporting association for the fifth edition of Smithers Apex’s annual Cleaning Products Europe conference in Prague, 26-28 March 2013.

The Cleaning Products Europe 2013 conference programme will be shaped and guided by an expert technical advisory board, consisting of representatives from leading companies P&G, Unilever, Ecover, Henkel, DuPont and Huntsman, to ensure that delegates will receive unrivalled insight into current megatrends, technical innovations and industry case studies.

Mark Stalmans, Manager of External Relations at P&G and member of the advisory board, comments that “changing habits via education is critical, but no one can do this on his own; there is a role for all; NGOs, policy makers, retailers, detergent producers, material and technology providers.” With this in mind, Cleaning Products Europe 2013 will bring together the highest calibre speakers from throughout the supply chain, to delve deeper into how the industry can work together to innovate and educate consumers, in order to create a sustainable future.

Organisations and associations across industry and government have all made commitments for 2020, revolving around social, economic and environmental issues, and, particularly in the cleaning products industry a number of barriers still exist to reaching these targets. With seven years until 2020 commitments need to be met, Cleaning Products Europe will identify and assess all the current barriers, including prohibitive regulations and policies, difficulties in changing consumer behaviour and economic barriers, which need to be overcome in order to reach 2020 targets and will provide insight into solutions and opportunities within the industry and beyond.

Smithers Apex are recruiting papers from companies in this sector, who would like to present a case study of a disruptive innovation, a successful collaborative partnership or a novel way in which to drive sustainable behaviour. If you would like more information, or would like to submit a paper, please contact Hayley Marsden, Conference Producer at Smithers Apex, at hmarsden@smithers.com.
