Guidance on the safe use of disinfectants

Posted by Charlotte Salter, on April 25, 2020.

Following Donald Trump’s speculation about ingesting or injecting disinfectants to treat Covid-19, UKCPI has issued a strong reminder that disinfectants should never be used in this way.

Disinfectants, which include bleach and other cleaning products, should only be used for their intended purposes and according to the manufacturers’ instructions.

Always read the label and follow the guidance on pack.

You can read our feature on bleach to learn more about what bleach is and how to clean with it safely.
